I bought this bar of Ecuadorian chocolate at zotterusa.com online store because it was on sale and cost only $1. A white chocolate bar with raspberries goes along with it, but it is of no interest to me. Now we try 60% Ecuador.
Packaging is familiar and great, 2 small bars. My experience of eating chocolate from Ecuadorian beans suggests that Ecuador gives "earthy" beans. They have such astringency, different from astringency of, for example, tea, wine or persimmon. This is its own "earthy" astringency. And here in this bar it is felt even in the smell. And I was already prepared for this very earthiness in the taste as well, but it was not there! Apparently sugar and cocoa butter beat it.
Chocolate is very good, as I like to say, good quality. But sweet! If it were not so sweet, it would have been a confident four. Still, Zotter understands very well what pure chocolate is. The taste is reminiscent of chocolate caramel, and only at the very end a bit of cocoa bitterness appears, and in the aftertaste a slight astringency appears, similar to what was in the smell. Perhaps, if there were more cocoa, it would not be so soft and caramel. I'm still leaning towards the four, because the chocolate itself is very good and pleasant. So be it - 4 stars.
I diplomatically keep silent about the second raspberry white chocolate bar, although I tried it. Let me just say that in my house, where there are three small kids, there was someone to finish it. It didn't suffer for too long :)

Знакомая нам отличная упаковка, 2 небольшие плиточки. Мой опыт поедание шоколада из эквадорских говорит о том, что Эквадор даёт "землистые" бобы. В них есть такая терпкость, отличающаяся от терпкости, например, чая, вина или хурмы. Это своя какая "землистая" терпкость. И вот в этой плитке она чувствуется даже в запахе. И я уже было приготовился к этой самой землистости во вкусе, но ее там не оказалось! Видимо сахар и какао масло ее победили.
Шоколад очень хороший, как я люблю говорить, качественный. Но сладкий! Если бы он был не такой сладкий, это была бы уверенная четверка. Всё-таки Zotter очень хорошо понимает что такое чистый шоколад. Вкус же напоминает шоколадную карамель, и только в самом конце появляется немного горечи какао, а в послевкусии появляется легкая терпкость, похожая на то что было в запахе. Возможно, если бы там было больше какао, он был бы не такой мягкий и карамельный. Я все же склоняюсь к четверке, потому как сам шоколад очень добротный и приятный. Так тому и быть - 4 звезды.
О второй малиновой плитке белого шоколада я дипломатично умолчу, хотя я её и попробовал. Скажу лишь что в моём доме, где водится трое маленьких спиногрызов, нашлось кому её прикончить. Долго она не мучалась :)
