70% Anamalai by Solstice

The second-to-last bar from Solstice, this time from India. As always, a cool, sturdy envelope, and the bar looks quite light. A pleasant chocolatey aroma reminds me of something like spices. It's hard for me to explain in words, but it's something multidimensional: there's acidity and some spices that add an extra dimension to the scent. I want to say the aroma feels "voluminous." The acidity probably dominates, and there's also a bit of something woody.

The taste is also mostly driven by pleasant acidity, but it's not citrus-like; it's more fruity, like sour apples, which leave a slight astringency at the end. Of course, there's also bitterness. It also reminds me of something smoky, or perhaps more like strong tea or tobacco. And of course, there's sweetness that balances it all, coming through more toward the end. The finish and aftertaste are very astringent, like after a strong, rich black tea. India.
This is definitely an interesting chocolate, like all other Solstice bars. It's four and a half stars plus.

Мені це важко пояснити словами, але це щось таке багатовимірне: є кислота і якісь спеції, що додають запаху цього додаткового виміру. Хочеться сказати що цей запах об'ємний. Домінує напевно все-таки кислота, і є ще трошки чогось дерев'яного.

Смаком теж в більшості опікується приємна кислота, і вона не цитрусова, а щось більше фруктове, щось на кшталт кислих яблук, які ще в кінці по собі залишають трошки в'язкості. Звісно тут ще є гіркота. Ще чимось нагадуємо щось типу диму, або навіть це більше схоже на якісь крепкий чай чи табак. Ну і ще звісно тут є солодкість яка все це балансує, і вона на фоні але виходить ближче до кінця. І закінчення і посмак дуже терпки, такі як після насиченого крепкого чорного чаю. Індія.
Це однозначно цікавий шоколад як і всі інші плитки Solstice, це чотири з половиною плюс.
