70% Duffy's Philippine South Cotabato Fine Chocolate

I bought this Duffy's bar in the wonderful Amsterdam store Chocolatl. I was looking for something darker than 70% from Duffy's, as I really liked the Honduras bar bought in the same place last year. Unfortunately, this was Duffy's last bar in the store, as there were no new deliveries due to the heat wave. Therefore, I had to be content with this. The packaging is familiar to us from the previous bar. Thin bar with a peculiar pattern.

The taste seemed good to me, but it does not reach the level last year's bar set. Here I didn’t have enough of that tasty acid, but everything else was good. Chocolate is rather oily, maybe even too much in places, but this is a trifle. Overall the chocolate is quite interesting, it’s a good four stars, but I liked the Honduras bar more.

Update from 2024

This time, the bar didn’t seem too fatty to me, and although I didn’t mention acidity last time, here it’s quite noticeable - something lemony, but it’s almost immediately covered up. The texture is also interesting: much less smooth, with a noticeably grainier feel. Still, this chocolate is really good and definitely deserves four stars: it’s sweet, but tasty.

Цю плитку Duffy's я купив у чудовому амстердамському магазині Chocolatl. Я шукав щось темніше ніж 70% від Duffy's, тому що торік куплена в цьому ж місці плитка Гондурас мені дуже сподобалася. На жаль, це була остання плитка Duffy's, тому що через аномальну спеку нових поставок перед цим не було. Тому мені довелося задовільнитись цим. Упаковка нам знайома за попередньою плиткою. Тоненька плитка зі своєрідним візерунком.
Смак мені здався добрим, але він не дотягує чимось до торішньої плитки. Тут мені не вистачило трохи смачної кислоти, але все інше було в нормі. Шоколад досить маслянистий, можливо місцями навіть надто, але це дрібниця. У шоколаді є щось таке цікаве, це гарна четвірка, але плитка Гондурасу сподобалася мені більше.

Оновлення від 2024

Цього разу плитка не здалася мені занадто жирною, і я нічого не писав минулого разу про кислоту, але тут вона добре відчувається-щось таке лимонне, але майже одразу перекривається. Ще цікава консистенція: вона набагато менш гладка і більше відчуваються крупинки. Але шоколад дійсно хороший, підтверджує чотири зірки: солодко, але смачно.
