72% Labooko Belize Special by Zotter

The first Austrian chocolate in my list. I purchased it in Kyiv at Good Wine store. As usual, I was skeptical about it as it looks too unusual - 2 small bars, a lot of colorful packaging.

By the way, I have to mention packaging separately. It is good! An interesting presentation is already half the battle won. Lots of text inside (reminded me Toscano Black), golden foil paper. One minus - the glue stuck and made the reading a little more complicated than necessary.

The bars seemed pretty light in color, but after Pralus bars, it does not bother me much.
The smell has some fruity acidity (as with the previous 71% Valrhona bar). But here it is barely noticeable and reveals itself mostly in smell and in the very first taste sensation.
The taste itself is quite complex, bitter-nut-caramel-sweet. Very good balance. The average length bitter aftertaste.
Interestingly, there is salt in ingredients list, although I did not feel it, but maybe it was the thing that made the taste so interesting. It's probably a 5.

It's five stars! While visiting Ukraine, I bought a mountain of these bars and I was never disappointed. Excellent chocolate!

It happened that I somehow stumbled over zotterusa.com website and right at the moment when they had sale on this exact bar - $2.50 versus regular $6.99. So I immediately ordered 8 bars to see how they look and taste. They were just awesome, same 5+ stars. So I've made the second order with 25! bars of Belize (plus some other bars we are going to review soon). And after watching those delicious bars disappear one by one so rapidly I've made my third order, but they only had 8 of the Belize bars left :( I've taken all they had and now the website doesn't even show those bars. I really hope they will appear again. As this is one of the best chocolates for me. The more I eat it, the more I like it!

P.S. What's interesting, on the Austrian website Belize page they claim that conching time is 21 hours (US site while the bar was still available, had the same info), while on packaging it says 18 hours. Which one is right?

Перший у моєму списку австрійський шоколад. Куплений у Київському магазині Good Wine. Як водиться, я був скептично налаштований до цієї плитки, надто вже незвичайно вона виглядає - 2 невеликі плиточки, багато квітчастої упаковки. Про неї, до речі, слід сказати окремо. Вона хороша, цікава подача вже пів справи. Всередині багато тексту (нагадало мені Toscano Black), золотистий фольгований папір. Один мінус - клей прилипав і зробив прочитання трохи складніше, ніж потрібно.

Плитки здалися мені досить світлими, але після Pralus'а мене це сильно не бентежить.
Запах із фруктовою кислинкою (як і у попередньої 71% плитки Valrhona). Але тут вона ледве помітна і найбільше проступає у запаху і в першому смаковому відчутті.
Сам смак досить складний, гіркувато-горіхово-карамельно-солодкуватий. Дуже добрий баланс. Середнлї довжини гіркуватий післясмак.
Що цікаво, у складі виявилася сіль, хоча її я не відчував, але, можливо, саме вона зробила смак таким цікавим. Мабуть, це 5.

Це п'ять, будучи знову в Україні, я купив гору цих плиток і жодного разу не був розчарований. Чудовий шоколад!

Так вийшло, що я "випадково" натрапив на сайт zotterusa.com і якраз у той момент коли вони мали знижку на цей самий шоколад - $2.50 проти звичайних $6.99. Я одразу замовив 8 плиток на пробу. Вони виявилися чудовими, ті самі 5+ зірок. Тоді я зробив друге замовлення з 25! плитками Belize (плюс ще кілька інших плиток, які ми невдовзі розглянемо). Спостерігаючи як ці смачні плиточки шоколаду зникають одна за одною з величезною швидкістю, я вирішив зробити третє замовлення, але у них залишилося всього 8 плиток Belize :( Я взяв що було і тепер вони навіть не показуються на сайті. Я дуже сподіваюся, що вони повернуться. По-моєму, це один із кращих шоколадів, чим більше я його їм, тим більше він мені подобається!

P.S. Що цікаво, на сторінці Belize австриського сайту, час коншування вказано як 21 год. (те саме було і на американському сайті поки плитка все ще була в наявності). На упаковках написано 18 годин. Кому вірити?
