The last of the bars from Solstice that I ordered from their website. This one is Ecuador in a rich dark yellow color. As always, a dense sleeve envelope, with a scent reminiscent of brownies, slightly earthy and a bit tart. There's also a hint of acidity in the aroma, but it's very subtle, you have to find it. There's something sweet, honey-like as well.
The taste balances sweet and bitter quite nicely, though it leans more towards sweetness, but bitterness is always present in the background. In the aftertaste, the bitterness is more noticeable as the sweetness fades away. It's not exactly mouth-puckering, but there are hints of astringency, a very rich flavor. Overall, I really liked it, and this is also a solid four stars, something like four and a half.
Solstice definitely holds a very honorable place on my shelf of chocolate makers, especially among American chocolate producers. I think I’ll try all the other variations of their chocolate that I haven’t yet tasted later on.
Остання з плиток від Solstice які я замовляв в них на сайті. Це Еквадор в такому насиченому темно-жовтому кольорі. Як завжди щільний рукавчик-конвертик, пахне чимось схожим на брауні, трошки землистим і терпкуватим. Ще є трошки кислоти у запаху, але вона така дуже невираззна, її треба там знайти. Ще щось таке солодко-медове.
Смак дуже непогано балансує солодке і гірке, хоча воно все ж ближче до солодкого, але на фоні завжди є гіркота. У післясмаку гіркота більш відчутна, бо солодкість пропадає. Також не те щоб в'яже рот, але якісь такі натяки на терпкість є, дуже насичений смак. В цілому мені дуже сподобалося, і це теж хороша четвірка, щось типу чотири з половиною.
Solstice однозначно посідають дуже почесне місце на поличці виробників шоколаду, особливо американських виробників шоколаду. Думаю пізніше спробую всі інші варіації їх шоколаду які я ще не пробував.
