Although I still have a lot of European chocolate brought from Ukraine, Holland, France, Italy and Denmark, today we have a fresh bar of French chocolate, bought 2 days ago in Manhattan at the Le District market. It is such a French version of Eataly, no less pathetic and expensive. And there is also a department with chocolate. We came out from there with 3 bars, baguette and croissants (by the way, I did not like croissants).
Of course, the bar with a rooster immediately caught my attention. Pleasant packing - paper with a French cute rooster. Red gold foil looking out from under the paper. 72% cocoa. Everything that is needed for a good purchase. But as a bonus we also got caramelized hazelnuts. But when was I against tasty nuts?
So, opening the bar, I got glad once more seing the rooster, beautiful foil and clean chocolate bar with pleasant color, without the white coating I can't stand anymore.
The smell was very, so to speak, neutral. Nuts were there, sort of, but they did not hit the nose. Chocolate also smelled very modestly, without bragging and pressure. I do not like heavy aromas, but such quiet smells are also feel alarming.
The taste turned out to be similar to a candy, only here is more cocoa. Not bad, but nothing special. A lot of sweet, little bitter. There is a slight metallic taste. Alas, only 3 stars. We know for sure, Frech can do better!
Хоча у мене в коморах лежить ще багато європейського шоколаду, привезеного з України, Голландії, Франції, Італії та Данії, сьогодні у нас свіжа плитка французького шоколаду, куплена 2 дні тому на Манхеттені на ринку Le District. Це такий собі французький варіант Eataly, не менш пафосний та дорогий. І там теж є відділ із шоколадом. Вийшли ми звідти з трьома плитками, багетом та круасанами (круасани, до речі, мені не сподобалися).
Плитка з півнем звичайно відразу привернула мою увагу. Приємна упаковка - папір з французьким милим півнем. Виглядає з-під паперу червоного золота фольга. 72% какао. Все, що потрібно для хорошої покупки. Ще, щоправда, на додаток дістався карамелезований фундук. Але коли я був проти смачних горіхів?
Отже, відкриваючи плитку я порадувався ще раз півню, красивій фользі і приємного кольору, без набридлого вже мені білого нальоту, чистої шоколадної плитки.
Запах був дуже, так би мовити, нейтральним. Горіхи вгадувалися, але не били по носі. Шоколад теж пахнув дуже скромно, без вихваляння і натиску. Не люблю важкий запах, але такі ось тихоні мене теж насторожують.
Смак виявився схожим на цукерковий, тільки тут більше какао. Непогано, але нічого особливого. Багато солодкого, мало гіркого. Є легкий металевий смак. На жаль, лише 3 зірки. Ми точно знаємо, що французи можуть бути кращими!
