75% Jamaica by Pump Street Chocolate

I bought this English bar in a nice small chocolate shop Cacao and Spice in Amsterdam. I got there on the second attempt and, as it turned out, not in vain. A very pleasant hostess had a nice chat with me about chocolate, and even seduced me to get another bar I was going to pass by in the beginning (Thank you!). Once again, a very nice place, in the very center of the cannabis fog of coffee shops. I recommend everyone to check it out!

In my ranking of chocolate makers, the UK is by no means in last place, and this bar is another confirmation of this. Jamaican cocoa usually doesn't make me very happy, but apparently English mastery handled even that.

The packaging is not quite standard, but convenient - a thick plastic envelope with foil inside, which should protect chocolate from temperature and moisture and even odors.
The bar broke a little, but you can still see that it is fresh. In the smell there is a familiar Jamaican floral scent, but it's very light, not annoying and there's almost none of it in taste, and this is good.
I was very pleased with the taste, and I really caught a few honey notes there at the very end. Almost acid free, with a slight bitterness and a dense chocolate flavor. This really can be called rich taste. The ending is warm and tart, somewhat similar to rum or some other alcohol, but without alcohol :)
This is a well-deserved five stars.
P.S. I was not even hungry, but I ate almost whole bar myself. Gonna buy something else from Pump Street when I have a chance.

Цю англійську плитку я купив у Амстердамському магазинчику Cacao and Spice. У нього я потрапив з другої спроби і, як виявилося, недаремно. Дуже приємна господиня мило зі мною поговорила про шоколад, і навіть спокусила мене на ще одну плитку повз яку я пройшов (Дякую!). Ще раз повторюся, дуже миле містечко, в самому центрі канабісного туману кофешопів. Всім рекомендую заглянути туди.
У моєму рейтингу шоколаду Великобританія аж ніяк не на останньому місці, і ця плитка зайве тому підтвердження. Ямайське какао зазвичай мене не дуже тішить, але мабуть англійська майстерність впоралася і тут.
Упаковка досить не стандартна, але зручна – товстий пластиковий фольгований зсередини конверт, який повинен добре захищати шоколад від температури та вологи та навіть запахів.
Плитка трохи зламалася, але все одно видно, що вона свіжа. У запаху є знайома мені ямайська квітковість, але дуже легка, не настирлива і її майже немає в смаку, і це добре.
Смак мене дуже порадував, і я справді вловив там трохи медових ноток наприкінці. Майже без кислоти, з легкою гіркуватістю та щільним шоколадним смаком. Таке справді можна називати багатим смаком (rich). Закінчення тепле і терпкувате, чимось схоже на ром чи якийсь інший алкоголь, але без алкоголю.
Це заслужена п'ятірка.
P.S. я навіть не був голодним, але з'їв майже всю плитку сам. Обов'язково куплю ще щось від Pump Street.
