Here’s another small bar from London Chocolate — the fourth one so far, and I still have three more left, not counting this one. Today, it’s Cuba, once again at 70%. It seems like all their chocolate is 70% cacao, at least the ones I managed to get my hands on.
I really like the packaging — these black square boxes are very appealing to me, and the inner wrapper is nice too. To my surprise, this semi-paper wrap does a decent job of keeping the chocolate isolated. Given all the temperature fluctuations it had to endure (though I tried my best to minimize them), the chocolate has held up remarkably well.
The packaging promises notes of wood, rum, cream, nuts, and tobacco. And indeed, the first aromas that hit me upon opening the wrapper were tobacco, followed almost immediately by a distinct woody scent — something charred, like burnt wood. Not bad, already promising.
The taste didn’t disappoint either. The chocolate is quite dense, with a bitterness reminiscent of tobacco and black tea, plus that slightly woody undertone. There’s also a moderate astringency. In the aftertaste, that astringency lingers a bit — kind of like after drinking strong tea or, maybe, chewing tobacco (not that I ever have, but I’ve smelled it). I imagine tobacco would leave a similar drying effect in the mouth. That said, I should note that I don’t endorse tobacco use.
A solid four stars. High-quality chocolate — London Chocolate did a great job, and I hope to try more of their fantastic bars in the future.

Дуже прикольне пакування, як на мене, ці чорні квадратні коробочки мені дуже подобаються, і пакетик всередині теж. На мій подив, цей напів паперовий пакетик дуже непогано тримає шоколад в ізоляції. І шоколад зберігся дуже непогано, враховуючи всі температурні перепади які йому довелося пережити, хоча я і намагався мінімізувати їх.
На упаковці нам обіцяють щось дерев'яненьке, ромове, вершкове, горіхове і табачне. Так от, перші аромати які до мене дійшли коли я відкрив пакетик це той самий табак, і потім, майже одразу, дійсно якесь дерево, таке підгорівше, припалене дерево. Непогано, вже багатообіцяюче.
Смак мене в цілому теж порадував. Шоколад доволі щільний, віддає гіркотою табаку, чорного чаю і є оцей дерев'яний такий трошечки присмак. Плюс помірна в'язкість. У післясмаку в'язкість трошки залишається, така як після крепкого чаю або, можливо, коли жуєш табак, але я ніколи в житті його не жував проте чув на запах. І мені уявляється, що після табаку в роті в'яже, хоча маю зауважити що я проти використання табаку.
Четвірка, якісний шоколад, London Chocolate молоці, сподіваюся колись ще спробувати більше цього чудового шоколаду.
