We are familiar with Amedei for a long time. And, in general, I always had only pleasant positive impressions from this chocolate.
I recently walked past the Cocoa store in Manhattan, the one that is at the intersection of 18th Street and Broadway, and they had a Summer Sale of Chocolate. And apparently they have the Sale because part of their bars begins to expire, their shelf life is coming to an end. They sell bars that expire in September and October at about half the price according to the saleswoman. I purchased two Amedei bars, one for $7, and the other for $7.5. Both are best before October. Although we all know that with proper storage of dark chocolate, its shelf life may be slightly longer than indicated on the package. I figured it was a good investment and bought it. Today we open a blend of 9 varieties of cocoa.
The packaging of Amedei bars is, as always, top-notch, very nice thick paper, a lot of text that can be read. Standard for Amedei pattern on the bar. The smell is quite tender for 75% - very good, it is not heavy, but it is chocolate and pleasant. I also liked the taste very much. It is rich chocolate, but not heavy, there are no sharp tones in it, there is no sharp acid in it. Although near the end of the acid appears, but it is also quite soft and correct, so to say. In general, I liked everything except that there is only 50 grams here and half the price is $7. Perhaps in Italy this chocolate is more affordable, here it is expensive. Very good four, four and a half, I would say. If I have the opportunity, I will get a few more bars and see if my opinion changes.
