Yesterday in the afternoon I realized I want something dark and chocolatey. So this 65 grams and 70% cocoa Muckross bar became my next "Irish victim". It was bought in the souvenir shop in Killarney National Park near Muckross lake (I think for about 2-3 euro). According to text on the wrapping, O'Conaill Chocolate Ltd. in Cork makes the chocolate for the shop.
Muckross lake is a fabulous place, but the chocolate of the same name is not, unfortunately.
It again has vanilla extract in the ingredients list, and that reflects in its smell and taste. I don't know why they add vanilla, but I start to suspect that I don't want vanilla extract in my chocolate. It doesn't smell bad, but the smell is rather flat and doesn't cause appetite.
It also doesn't melt well in a mouth and when it melts, one can feel it's full of tiny grains, which makes the feeling of this "mechanic" astringency. Doesn't have much aftertaste. My rating is ★★☆☆☆
One should visit Killarney National Park and Muckross Lake, no doubts. But it's better to bring some nice dark chocolate with you, rather than buy it here.
Вчора по обіді захотілося чогось чорно-шоколадного. Наступною моєю "ірландською жертвою" став 65 грамовий і 70% батончик - макросс. Куплений у сувенірному магазині у національному парку Кіларні біля озера Макрос (здається щось за 2-3 євро). Згідно з упаковкою, виробляє цей шоколад O'Conaill Chocolate Ltd. у Корку.
Озеро Макрос місце феєричне, але однойменний шоколад, на жаль, ні.
Знову у нас у складі екстракт ванілі, що відбивається в запаху та смаку. Не знаю навіщо він там, але я починаю підозрювати, що не хочу, щоб у моєму шоколаді був екстракт ванілі. Запах не поганий, але досить плаский і апетит не викликає. Тане в роті цей шоколад не дуже добре. І коли він тане, відчуваються дрібні, але все ж таки крупинки, що створює таку собі "механічну" в'язкість. Післясмаку особливого немає. Оцінка - ★★☆☆☆.
Обов'язково варто відвідати національний парк Кіларні та озеро Макрос, але краще принести з собою трохи чорного шоколаду, ніж купувати його там.
