I bought this chocolate in Wholefoods and almost immediately thought that I won't like it. I have tried chocolate by Theo before, not this kind, but other bars. Not great, but edible, at least so I recall. But those were around 70% of cocoa.
Packaging looks good, festively, New Year-ish. Christmas tree, oranges as balls, all that stuff. In addition, organic and Fair Trade. All is well, except for the content of cocoa - just 55%. The pattern on the bar is ordinary, if I am not mistaken, all Theo bars look like that.
The smell is complex, but is clearly dominated by orange.
Taste, as expected, is sweet, too sweet, as for me. Not a hint of cocoa bitterness. There's a bit of sourness from cranberry. It appears near the end.
Overall, it was a little better than I expected, and I can not say that this is a bad chocolate. Just an acquired taste, as well as chocolate with high cocoa content. I think this chocolate has its fans. For me it's only 3 stars.
Я купив цей шоколад у Wholefoods і майже відразу подумав, що він мені не сподобається. Шоколад від Theo я вже пробував, не цю але інші плитки. Не торт, але їсти можна. Так мені пригадується. Але у тих плиток було близько 70% какао.
Упаковка виглядає непогано, святково, різдвяно-новорічно. Ялинка, апельсини як кульки, все таке. До того ж органік та чесна торгівля. Все добре, крім вмісту какао – всього 55%. Візерунок плитки звичайний, якщо не помиляюся, всі плитки Theo так виглядають.
Запах складний, але домінує там однозначно апельсин.
Смак, як і очікувалося, солодкий. Занадто солодкий, як на мене. Немає і натяку на гіркоту какао. Є трохи кислинки від журавлини. Вона з'являється ближче до кінця.
Загалом, виявилося трохи краще ніж я очікував, та я не можу сказати що це є поганий шоколад. На любителя, так само як і шоколад із високим вмістом какао. Думаю свої поціновувачі цього шоколаду знайдуться. Для мене це 3 зірки.
