70% Jamaican Plain Dark Chocolate by Mount Pleasant

We're at Jamaica, so we try the local chocolate. I honestly did not expect to find much dark chocolate here because in local stores I saw a lot of Hershey's and Cadbury, and Toblerones at best. But in one of the stores purely by accident I noticed small pieces of Jamaican chocolate.

There were different options from salt and pepper to almonds. I took a plain bar and a bar with almonds. We are reviewing plain chocolate now. The bars are small, 57 grams, and besides cocoa butter there is also coconut oil - local specificity, so to speak.
The smell is sweetly floral, the texture is rough. It is very reminiscent of the smell of barbados Agapey bars. The temperature in Jamaica obliges and the bar itself looks soft and when breaking off a piece makes no sound.

There is a lot of sweet in the taste, too much as for me, especially for 70%. But this is chocolate, real. No doubt here. It melts in the mouth very well. There is also lots of sweetness left in the aftertaste and very little bitterness of cocoa. 3 stars level, but quite edible.

Ми на Ямайці, а значить пробуємо місцевий шоколад. Я чесно кажучи і не сподівався знайти тут чорного шоколаду, бо в локальних крамницях я бачив багато Hershey's та Cadbury, та максимум Toblerone. Але в одному з магазинів випадково я помітив невеликі плиточки ямайського шоколаду. Там були різні варіанти від солі та перцю до мигдалю. Я взяв просту плитку та плитку з мигдалем. Зараз пробуємо чистий шоколад. Плиточки невеликі, 57 грам, і ще крім масла какао там є масло кокоса - місцева специфіка, так би мовити.
Запах солодко квітковий, грубувата текстура.

Дуже нагадав запахом барбадоський Agapey. Температура на Ямайці зобов'язує і плитка сама по собі виглядає м'яко і при відламуванні шматка звуку не було ніякого.
У смаку багато солодкості, занадто багато як на мене, особливо для 70%. Але це справжній шоколад. Тут немає сумнівів. Тане в роті дуже добре. у післясмаку залишається багато солодкості і зовсім трохи гіркоти какао. На трійку, але їсти можна.
