Another Pralus bar, this time it's Chuao bar. Although it has 75% of cocoa, it's a standalone 50 gramms bar that is not part of 75% series.
It's also named not after a country (like Colombia, Bresil, Ghana) or a big city (like Caracas, Jakarta), but after a small village in Venezuela. This village - Chuao - is famous because of it's own sub-sort of Criollo beans.
The bar costs more than any of regular 75% bars but is half weight. I guess it's explained by very limited source of Chuao beans.
Packaging is also quite impressive, it looks like it was made with a though of a gift. Very nice and stylish. The bar was purchased in Paris Pralus store.
Smell is light, pleasant and slightly acidic. The color is very reddish.
The taste is slightly acidic, very mild and sweet. Very nicely balanced sweet. With some gentle bitterness. There's also some light astringency. Bitterness gets a bit stronger in the aftertatse. But I didn't notice promised on the packaging "earthy" notes. Ecuador bar from Pralus was earthy, this one isn't. And it's probably good :)
I'm not 100% sure I wasn't biased by great packaging, the knowledge that chuao beans and bars are quite limited, but all in all is a 5 stars bar.

Pralus now got it in 100g variant. Packaging looks pretty goog. The chocolate is still yummy :)
Ще одна плитка від Pralus'а, цього разу Chuao. І хоча в ній теж 75% какао, ця плитка стоїть особняком і не входить до колекції 75%-х плиток. Названа вона також не на честь країни (як Colombia, Bresil, Ghana) або великого міста (як Caracas, Jakarta), а на честь маленького села у Венесуеллі. Це село - Chuao - відоме через свій під-сорт какао-бобів Criollo.
Ця 50 грамова плитка коштує більше ніж будь-яка зі 100 грамових 75%-х плиток. Це пояснюється дуже обмеженою кількістю бобів Chuao.
Упаковка вражає, виглядає як подарункова. Дуже якісна та стильна. Купили плитку в Паризькому магазині Pralus'а.
Запах легкий, приємний і трохи кислуватий. Колір майже червоний.
Смак також злегка кислуватий, м'який та солодкий. Дуже добре збалансований солодкий. З такою собі акуратною гіркуватістю. І також є трохи терпкості. Гіркота посилюється ближче до кінця. "Земляних" ноток, обіцяних на упаковці, я не помітив. Плитка Ecuador від Pralus'а була землиста, а ця ні. І це напевно добре:)
Я не впевнений на 100%, що не був упередженим враховуючи чудову упаковку і знання того, що кількість шоколаду з бобів chuao досить обмежена, але в цілому у мене вийшло 5 зірок.

Pralus тепер виробляє його і у 100-грамовому варіанті. Упаковка виглядає досить добре. Шоколад все ще так само смачний :)
